At last Chris Christie is dead to politics. At long last.

For those of you who lived in Jersey as I did and saw first hand what a giant asshole this guy was, how corrupt, how mean (he would literally yell at and insult war veterans at town halls for politely asking a question he didn't like)...

He fucked up the school system right at the start by missing a deadline for hundreds of millions in federal money...

He used his job to make business pals rich, and to line his pockets

And he also ate all the chicken wings in the state, leaving many children to ask "mom, what do chicken wings taste like, and are they real?"

Fuck this guy. If you've lived in Jersey you know I've only scratched the surface. It's good that this guy won't be able to dupe the whole country the way he did the idiots in Jersey who voted him in. But they realize now, at last.

THe Democrats are likely to retake the Senate. Christie would then need over 10 Democratic votes to get 60 votes. Won't happen.

on every front. And with him Christie. I think it has to be obvious that only people with little to lose politically attach to Trump, and/or something seriously wrong with them personally. Both Christie and Pence have mostly self destructed at home, and Newt's a disgraced sociopath who's been out of office for decades. Ben Carson's a self-aggrandizing nut who loves the camera and large self-puffery book sales.

I'll be happy. This 300-pound bully's abusiveness to his constituents in televised town halls seems to have pleased some, but I'm no authoritarian and was tremendously offended. Good riddance.

Samson & Fox, the Bridgegate trials coming up, this is going to be a rough couple of months for Christie. He can whistle past the graveyard all he wants. 5 of his senior officials criminally charged, two already pleading guilty. The stink of corruption is all over him. If there's anything to learn from the charging documents connected to Samson and Fox it's that intimidation, manipulation, corruption and self interest are the prime motivators of his administration. The only way he rebounds from this is if we stop bearing witness to his malfeasance. If that happens then shame on us.

I just posted this in another thread:

In the end, Chris Christie proved to be exactly what he was–a nobody. A nobody who lost a local Morris County election but who had a brother who could buy him a job he didn’t deserve and had no right to fill, the federal prosecutor’s position in New Jersey.

With his media friends, he built a false image of himself as a corruption fighter–even when he exploited his authority for his own corrupt political ends: Going after Democrats and Republicans who stood in his way, concocting entrapment schemes, leaking toxic information to hurt potential rivals.

The last and worst was his manipulation of the sicko Solomon Dwek to put the final nail in former Gov. Jon Corzine’s political coffin. Yes, that occurred after he resigned–but we all know Christie left behind loyalists who timed the “Bid Rig” investigation to come out just before the 2009 gubernatorial election.

Corruption fighter? What a joke. Believe that one and there is a bridge over the Hudson I could sell you–complete with red traffic cones ready for a new traffic study. Now he will come home to New Jersey, a wounded beast thirsting for retribution, undoubtedly hoping a Republican will capture the White House and he can obtain yet another unmerited political job.

He's recently halted all non-essential road construction work because of a disagreement with the state Senate over increasing New Jersey's ridiculously low gas tax.

My husband and I have a tiny house on a small property and pay a property tax that could be the yearly income of a part-time worker. However, the gas tax is ridiculously low and needs to be higher. Such a low gas tax gives people an excuse to waste their gas by driving aggressively and sitting in their car for long periods while running their AC or heating.

The most irritating thing is my idiot fellow NJers voted for him a second time and Democratic voters did not show up for a flawless liberal candidate.

The Democratic leadership better not back end us again by wink and nodding a Con.

Murphy is IT - he's where it's at - regardless of what folks over the bridge want or long pole election prospects try to dictate to us. I could care less if some district in Iowa will have a Republican elected in mid terms if it means we continue as a failed and flailing state.

Sorry but I saw first hand what happened here the last election, and we know we can't count on any Democratics outside of NJ to help us. We've got to be pugnacious and be out for ourselves.

And I think there's a mammalian instinct to follow people that come across as confident. He was so sure of himself I think a lot of people assumed he knew was he was talking about. That's how weasels get the power, and you don't realize you've been had until you start to see the knives coming out. Of course if people educated themselves they could avoid all this, but that's asking a lot of humanity.

I got out of jersey 2 years ago and I couldn't get the hell out of there fast enough.
