Chris Matthews should never sit next to real comedians. Funny people bring out the worst in him.

he thinks he's funny so he tries to compete with them but them are two guys from SNL
Matthews looked more like Drunk Uncle than any kind of newsman or TV personality.

1. I agree. It was totally painful to watch.

Every time I was "supposed" to laugh I cringed. Matthews at points just looked plain racist, and when he wasn't racist he was dismissive. Holy crap, he actually asked one of them: 'Wow. You went to a smart school. You must be smart. Why did you choose to become a comedian? What happened?'

He was sitting next to the black comedian, asking him who his favorite black comedian was... I watched them both cringe. Then at the end of the interview Matthews started blurting out, 'My favorite black comedian is Chris Rock!' WTF? To the dudes face?!

Before it started, he was talking to that new MSNBC reporter, who asked Chris if he got the Pokémon Go joke. Matthews clearly had not gotten the joke, which took the reporter off guard, as Matthews started asking him to explain it. The reporter, not having time, tells people to tweet it to Matthews, and Matthews apparently takes it as a slight and says, 'Well you won't be around here long. You've just made yourself an enemy.' Then realizing what he said quickly adds, 'Just kidding! It was a joke!'

Yeah, it was cringe inducing.

3. They need to keep him away from SNL stars

never goes well. The worst was Chris interviewing Darrell Hammond (who does impressions of Chris Matthews, Trump, Sean Connery, Dick Cheney, Bill Clinton - super talented guy with a really dark past.) Chris kept trying Darrell to do voices of various people, Darrell had no script to read from so he refused and it was a mess. Still cringing
