pretty dumb for her to resign now right in the heat of an election, especially considering that she'll be out by the start of next year anyway. From what I've seen, there wasn't any wrongdoing on her part.

When she deliberately endorses republican candidates over Democratic ones, then I don't think she has the distinction of being the "best" democrat. However, it would free up her seat for another Democrat to fill.

Good Riddance, DWS

But I'm pretty sure that now that she has fallen on her sword in the interest of party unity, Hillary will DEFINITELY reward her after the election and that will most likely be as White House Chief of Staff.

Hillary can find nobody better suited for the position.

Both chambers and the White House. Now we only have the White House. It was somewhere around 100 seats, and that doesn't include governorships and state legislators.

...of the tea bagger movement that came into being just after Dean left and pretty much swept it's way through America, and also thanks to black lash hatred of Obama. The NRA's power and the Supreme Court decisions that brought in Voter I.D. and corporations able to buy elections. All of which happened during Debbie's watch.

I mean, I don't mean to naive here...but telling me what Dean left us vs. what Debbie now has doesn't necessarily indicate cause/effect. That's simply a "post-hoc-ergo-proper-hoc" statement.

Can you educate me (provide me with evidence) as to what makes this a causal relationship irregardless of those other factors and puts her squarely to blame for losing those seats?

54. She abandoned Dean's 50 state strategy.
Sun Jul 24, 2016, 11:52 PM
Jul 2016

She also abandoned pushing for Party positions and began posturing and pushing for her own positions, even when they went against (example: payday loans) party principles.

It has also been reported that she used DNC fundraising lists to fundraise for her own elections, something no other Democratic pol is allowed to do.

Dean expanded the GOTV effort and manages to grow the number of registered Democrats. DWS, once again, abandoned the effort and many people left the Party.

In a nutshell, Dean was about strengthening the party, DWS is about strengthening DWS.

I could go on, but I believe you are smart enough to see how these things impact the process and the direction the party is going in

Just a side note: I find it interesting that you bring up the tea party. Dean had his own version in the border militia groups ( if memory servese correctly they were called minute men) and have e managed to sideline their agenda before it got oxygen to expand.

By contrast, I have witnessed DWS in several public appearances throw fuel on the fire and feed the tea party movement. I believe that she believes she was using them as a foil, but she caught the sharp end of the sword due to her political flat footedness.

I know from personal experience that she views herself a political intellectual on the same level with Obama, but it's pretty clear that she's not nearly as savvy as he is, and in fact tends to act more like a blunt instrument wielded by a teenager as opposed to a surgeon's scalpel wielded by a highly trained neurologist.

Thanks for the question.

...Pay Day Loans. What I meant, amid all this back and forth, is that she'd only be doing that if Trump wins because Hillary has pretty much guaranteed her a job after the convention and likely beyond that if Hillary wins. So, the only way Debbie is going to be working at Pay Day Loans is if Trump wins.

...A political party can run things however it likes. And if we're being honest, the American system of picking a president isn't democratic either. Electoral College, remember?

So, I'm not sure exactly how this woman undermined democracy if the DNC, by its very nature (rules, way of running things, etc.), was never democratic.
