Simple show of hands: Who was emotionally moved by Michelle Obama's speech?

I was. I literally felt a welling up and then I got some dust in both my eyes at the same time.

The speech had it all. Great lines to quote. Some of the lines timeless, such as "Each of us a beloved part of the Great American Story". The notion of her daughters playing freely on the lawn of a house built by slaves. Her hopes and hopefulness for our future.

I am getting all verklempt just typing this.

Show of hands: Were you emotionally touched by her speech? If you wish, tell us how.

It was a SERIOUS speech delivered in the way only a woman and mother could deliver it. It was an IMPORTANT speech.

It was a truly wonderful speech and it was one that brought tears to my eyes. It was so lofty that it actually brought us down to earth with its truth.

Does that make sense?

Her appreciation for how historic it is to nominate the first woman is what got me. I have a daughter and I am thrilled for what this symbolizes for her.

"I wake up every morning in a house built by slaves."

That is what I wish for - a recognition of the building of this country by people of color - all be it against their will. We have lived too long with the myth that only white Anglo-Saxons built this country and it has to be corrected. POC of been made to feel ashamed for their slave history but the fact is their roots in this country go farther back than most whites. And the white slave owners bought humans to do their work.

She went there and it was a breath of fresh air - and truth. Great respect for the first Lady!!

her daughters and husband have endured for 8 years makes my head explode😡! Civil discourse was suspended from the day the Obama's moved into the White House. Their ability to "Go High" teaches a lesson to all. We need to return the favor and make sure that right is rejected in this election resoundingly!

President Obama is no longer going to be President? I was on the verge of one of those moments last night, realizing that we're going to lose Michelle, too. Hell, it happens every time I think about it.

When watching Michelle Obama's speech you realize what was missing in Melania Trump's speech last week. it was the passion, a belief in what you are saying that's from your very core. Bravo, I love our FLOTUS, she is a class act.
