O'Reilly: Slaves Who Built White House "Well-Fed And Had Decent Lodgings Provided By The Gov't"

Not The Onion!

https://mediamatters.org/video/2016/07/26/oreilly-slaves-who-built-white-house-were-well-fed-and-had-decent-lodgings-provided-government/211921

Finally tonight, Factor Tip of The Day. As we mentioned, Talking Points Memo, Michelle Obama referenced slaves building the White House in referring to the evolution of America in a positive way. It was a positive comment. The history behind her remark is fascinating. George Washington selected the site in 1791, and as president laid the cornerstone in 1792. Washington was then running the country out of Philadelphia.

Slaves did participate in the construction of the White House. Records show about 400 payments made to slave masters between 1795 and 1801. In addition, free blacks, whites, and immigrants also worked on the massive building. There were no illegal immigrants at that time. If you could make it here, you could stay here.

In 1800, President John Adams took up residence in what was then called the Executive Mansion. It was only later on they named it the White House. But Adams was in there with Abi66 Years A sHithead. gail, and they were still hammering nails, the construction was still going on.

Slaves that worked there were well-fed and had decent lodgings provided by the government, which stopped hiring slave labor in 1802. However, the feds did not forbid subcontractors from using slave labor. So, Michelle Obama is essentially correct in citing slaves as builders of the White House, but there were others working as well. Got it all? There will be a quiz.

66 Years A Shithead.

And I'm loving it. There's a lot more that slaves built that has been systematically left out the history books. Most Americans think slaves only picked cotton.

Since it sounds so good, it's time for him to experience it fully and be sold into slavery.

I say the same thing to people who claim it's really great for people in prison or food stamps or think it must be so awesome for other people somehow.

The "it can't be that bad" crowd is really the worst. They're the types who prolonged injustices for others because they know they benefit from keeping others down.

An apologist for slavery, how disgusting. Tell us, Bill, if slavery was so great, why did so many of them run away from their "benevolent" masters? And why was there such a big movement to end the practice during the 1850s-1860s?

This fool is the product of the failed American education system.

Though some didn't know nothing about birthing no babies.

and don't forget being killed if you tried to run away.

O'Reilly is so bad when it comes to history that Ford's theater banned the sale of
his book, "Killing of Lincoln." Sadly to his real followers this little "dust up" over
his slavery comments will show that the liberal media is out to get Bill O.

BTW look up Bill O'Reilly college punter.

They weren't feeding their slaves well because they were nice people. If they were nice people they would have freed their slaves. They were feeding them well for the same reason that I get regular oil changes for my car. They were preserving the function and value of their property.

http://discuss.ilw.com/showthread.php?25064-African-slaves-whose-bones-bore-evidence-of-chronic-malnutrition-and-brutal-servitude

In 1991, excavation for a new federal building in Lower Manhattan unearthed the remains of more than 400 African slaves whose bones bore evidence of chronic malnutrition and brutal servitude.

More than an ancient graveyard, this is the burial ground of one of New York's -- and the nation's -- most extraordinary secrets. New York was a slave-holding powerhouse in early America, forcing Africans to clear land, cultivate crops and clean its chamber pots while it supplied ships for the slave trade, financed the voyages and exported the fruits of plantation slave labor.

Indeed, New York City had more slaves than any other North America city during parts of the 17th and 18th centuries. And New York state was one of the last in the North to abolish slavery. Meanwhile, slaves built Wall Street's wall, the first city hospital, the first city hall, roads and churches. Some 20,000 slaves are believed buried under six acres of Lower Manhattan in what was known among a few historians as the African Burial Ground.
