I'm starting to get the feel that Trump's Russian ties ...
... might be his "get out of jail free" card.
I've bounced around trying to figure the angle on his campaign, but one thing I have believed since day one is that he really doesn't WANT this job.
It's a HARD job. You have to get up early, read stuff, listen to briefings and analysis, listen to experts. Sure, you get a lot of attention, but most of the behind the scenes stuff is tedious and difficult.
He's a performer and a carnival barker. But he's smart enough to know that is his game, that he's NOT really cut out for this job, and that it's not nearly as much fun as being a celebrity/media personality. No campaign structure. No people on the ground. It all seems to suggest that this is some kind of a stunt. I don't think even he buys a good portion of what he says - even on those rare occasions that he says something other than "I'm gonna make Anerica great again". I think a lot of it has been "I wonder what would happen if I said THIS..."
Now we have something - 'sosiatin' with Commies" - that can really damage his image with his base. I think he's going to bloviate through the election, lose, and blame it on ... Whatever. Then hit the talk show circuit.
'Course. As usual. I could be wrong.
