Jupiter, FL. His reach isn't that vast.

U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marra this week paved the way for a trial to begin on August 15 by denying Trumps request to throw out the lawsuit filed by those who were members of the club before the businessman-turned-TV-celebrity-turned-GOP-presidential-nominee bought it for $5 million in 2012.
In the 12-page ruling, Marra said there were genuine questions of material fact regarding whether (Trump) breached the contract with members of Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter by refusing to return their deposits, which ranged from $35,000 to $210,000. That means, he said, the lawsuit must be decided by a jury.
Members claim that Trump changed the rules once he bought the club from the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa, which had been losing as much as $4.2 million annually trying to keep it afloat. Under the previous rules, members could continue to pay their dues and use the club even after announcing their intentions to resign. Once a new member signed up, however, their hefty deposits were to be refunded.

(34,661 posts)Nothing gets uglier than a group of scorned HOA members. Con Man Don will regret messing with these folks. Thank you Mr.Judge, and usually these deals produce punitive damages from hell. Our HOA meets once a month and there always is a member that has a bitch about how the CEO is running our Community. The usual's are Tea Baggers and they will let you know they want their pound of flesh.

(2,322 posts)...and the GOP will have to foot the bill if Trump himself can't pay. They aren't going to want there to be a trial however they feel about Trumpbad enough his old scams are coming back to haunt the party, they don't need him to be on trail in the here and now. So, they'd work to make sure it all goes away on the quiet. It's not like they don't have the money. They were going to give Justin B. $5 million for singing at the DNC. So, they give it to these people instead, and it all goes away.
And during the debates, when it comes up, which it very may will, Trump can say, "That no longer exists, all settled and done..."
