(264 posts)I thought it would take a long time to get as emotional again as I did last night. Well it only took a day to feel like I did yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Khan are great Americans and clearly do not enjoy the publicity. They are
Solely motivated by grief for their fallen son and love of country.

I am so grateful for this site. I found it during the Rep convention. I don't think I would've stayed sane without discovering DU.

(264 posts)Just when I don't think Mr. Khan could get any more eloquent he says one thing after another to demonstrate that he understands what makes America great more than me.

(23 posts)This couple has affected me more than I ever could have imagined. I cannot get them, and their beloved son, out of my mind. My boss, a republican, made a comment the other day about how surprised he was that our representative is a democrat and also a veteran. I almost lost it. I told him that my dad was a life long democrat and a world war 2 veteran. How dare these people claim that they are more patriotic. And, by the way, my dad loved Hillary Clinton. He died 10 years ago but he said he wished he could see her become president

It started out fine, but he pushed it too far in my view, to the degree of being insensitive to their feelings

(34,195 posts)Great interview but he pushed a bit too far, especially in asking the parents what was the last conversation with their son.
IMHO

That's none of our business, and it only intensified their pain even more

He deserves an Emmy for that interview
