Trump is not unstable.

That is not to say that there are not other names for his actions.

But for a long time he has had stable relationships with family and run a business. He sets goals and goes after them. This is not instability.

What he has constructed is a way to get what he wants and, guess what, it works.

He says whatever he feels the situation calls for; he can turn on a dime and repudiate his last statement; he attacks others viciously if they disagree with him.

In the small world he has created for himself, this is a winning strategy. On a larger stage, say a presidential campaign, this might not work so well. He can't walk away from situations he doesn't like, he can't silence his critics, he can't view relationships except as real estate deals.

In fact, he is now doubling down on this strategy even though he knows that it doesn't seem to be working.

Oh, and he blames his failures on some one else.

3. He's absurdly unstable as a result of his insanely fragile ego. Who are you trying to kid?

4. I do wish people would quit picking on Trump

I'm in suburban Houston. My high-profile elected figures not named Barack Obama and Joe Biden are all from the GOP:

Greg Abbott
Dan Patrick
Ted Cruz
John Cornyn
Kevin Brady

Almost certainly, those will all be running for re-election, albeit not all this year. This year I've also got Mike Pence on a ticket with Trump.

Out of those seven Republicans, tell me Trump isn't actually the most appealing candidate they're giving me? Or, if you have to say something nice about Cornyn, at least in the running for it? Granted, voting for Hillary--I hope eventually twice--is part of the straight-ticket Democratic ballot I'll be casting for the foreseeable future, but I really think The Donald is the sane, decent, and reasonable one (frightening as it is) out of the Republicans I get to see on a ballot.

Also, hello all.

13. welcome to du. . . there is nothing sane, or decent, or reasonable, about that misogynistic,

racist, lying, thieving, bigoted, ignorant, perverted, war-mongering, damn-near-treasonous, narcissistic megalomaniac with the tiny hands.

19. Were you being sarcastic?

I really think The Donald is the sane, decent, and reasonable one (frightening as it is) out of the Republicans I get to see on a ballot.

We have a tag for that --

If you were serious, you need to get out more. I see nothing "sane, decent and reasonable" about a hate - filled bigot-blivet (ten pounds of shit in a five pound bag) that is Donald Trump.

Get out there and campaign for Dems.

7. I brought this subject up because I felt that people

were expecting to see Trump carried away in a strait jacket sometime soon.

His rants and attacks on people are long used techniques to intimidate his adversaries and change the discussion.

He doesn't use these tactics all the time, just when he assumes he has power over someone. It's true he tries to stay out of situations where he is not dominant. Right now I think he must be sweating bullets as he is making nice to GOP donors.
