http://www.commondreams.org/view/2012/06/15Rumor in Washington, D.C., has it that House conservatives bent on dismantling the Violence Against Women Act believe they've succeeded by setting up a heads-I-win-tails-you-lose endgame. They figure, so it's said, that they can either force passage of the House version of VAWA -- a horrendous bill that fundamentally undermines the act's key programs -- or block passage altogether of a reauthorization of this life-saving legislation, in which case they would proceed to defund its programs in next year's federal budget.

(110,159 posts)1. this could not happen if there was not a blanket war on women across the nation of disrespect
and devaluing. we have been watching for over a decade of the ever growing dehumanizing of women. too many ignore, or dismiss, or reduce it to lighten up, francis. but, bottomline, this war of women could not be accomplished unless we had the last decade to dehumanize women.
there truly is a war on women.
Seabeyond, please check out the thread in Meta talking about "okay admins time to step in here..." Thank you in advance.

(3,747 posts)3. Because women are 51% of the population
that means we need to be kept in line, either by beating, killing, raping or just plain impregnating so many times that any thought is kept at bay in the daily grind of unpaid household work.
