1. The distinction the Republicans are making is reasonable

because one of these ladies is the First Lady of the United States, while the other will never be getting close to the White House...

This is halfway in jest; I think the Republicans are wrong, of course.

Right wingers said it was disgusting that she exposed so much flesh!

I was on another forum, newsgroup, whatever back in 2008 and I posted photos of first ladies going back to Mamie Eisenhower in gowns and dresses exposing as much or more.
But, of course, they weren't African-American.

A couple examples: Mamie, Jackie, Lady Bird, and Nancy
