Trump's son shares photo after rescuing baby deerRescued a fawn tonight with Donnie. He wanted to go for an evening hike in the woods and we found this little guy stuck in a pond with high edges so she couldn't get out. I waded in and pulled her out, she couldn't even stand and was totally exhausted. We hung out with her till she could regain her footing and hopefully find her momma. #deer #hiking #outdoors #outdoorkids

(2,095 posts)DT Jr. has five children, I think this one is his second, and is seven years old. Whether the story itself is true, mostly/slightly embellished, or completely made up, I don't know. I think it's got to be at least partly true; that is a woods at night, that is his kid, that is a fawn.
but it's frightening to know there are THREE of them.
Who knows? Maybe DT III can break the cycle of selfish cluelessness, and become the first Donald Trump that's not a relentless asshole.

(118,281 posts)I saw a jolly hunter
with a jolly gun
Walking in the country
In the jolly sun
In the jolly meadow
sat a jolly hare
saw the jolly hunter
took jolly care
Hunter jolly eager
sight of jolly prey
forgot gun pointing
wrong jolly way
Jolly hunter jolly head
over heels gone
jolly old safety catch
not jolly on!
Bang! went the jolly gun
Hunter jolly dead
Jolly hare got clean away
Jolly good I said

(18,318 posts)I hunted deer and exotics the day before my hunting partner were about to leave a goat-fenced 200 acre pasture. We spotted a yearling axis deer snared in the wire after a failed leap. We got out and freed the animal, and saw it run away in a normal manner. Otherwise, it would have died of exposure, or been ripped apart by coyotes. It is what you do.

(11,949 posts)People are always finding 'abandoned' fawns and taking them to wildlife shelters. Which means many of them are euthanized or live an un-natural life in captivity.
The truth is that the doe leaves the fawn alone for large stretches of time while feeding. And the doe was probably around the fawn in distress if it was stuck in the pond and ran off when the Trumps came on the scene. She would not have left it until there was not sign of life from the fawn.
She would have stayed close and returned to the fawn when the Trumps left.
They did a good thing. The little boy's grandfather and as far as I can tell father are total tools. Hopefully he will grow up with different views. Not likely, but I have hope for all little kids.
Have a nice evening.
