Slimy sons-of-bitches...

this whole crowd of shit-stirring politicos, media, pseudo-media - like that bastard present today at the President's speech, should understand that fomenting outright fascism in this country is not only seditious, not only un-American, not only contrary to every institution which has flowered and matured within our borders, not only repulsive to nearly every thinking, truly-righteous individual, not only a stinking, rotten, regressive, bigoted, outrageous act...

But it is dangerous to all of us ordinary citizens as well as those who advocate such extreme hatred and aggressive militancy, for they themselves will find that when the so-called common-man rises up against those in power, they will not be spared the wrath, indignities, and rage which will accompany such actions. For these ideas, rooted in the philosophies of those who occupy several of the Circles of Hell, are more destructive to this Democracy than the Soviet-bloc ever was or could have been. What you are witnessing is the middle stages of Suicide by Animus.

This is only beginning to escalate...this is a significant moment in American History. I hope and pray that we endure. I am no longer optimistic.

I have never signed my name to an OP before, but I shall today.

It is a significant moment but it's also an election year and people tend to go mad in Presidential election years. It's better to check in on the insanity a year from now in order to gauge the times better. I think that even if Mitt wins things will be just as divided and bitter in this country.

The teabaggeratti expect something very different from what they're ever going to get. Mitt and his fellow Plutocrats aren't about to make government smaller or less significant. They will, however use government to take total control, even over the teabaggers, because they won't need them anymore.

for a moment I had a lovely vision of Mitt as president
being torn to shreds by teabaggers and friends. not
that I want to see him as president. But the other
would be inevitable, I think.

I think Mitt is totally manipulable like Bush was.
If Cheney runs as VP we'll know it's the end times.

can rule the world because they have the ability to bring not just the United States but the entire world to its knees because they think because of their wealth,or corporate wealth they would face very little resistance..So it would not be bombs, bullets but economic weapons..tell me I'm crazy but this has been this Republican power groups agenda since the 1930's..
Lets face it if the Repukes would have had their way in the 30's or early 40's we would not had entered the war in Europe.
For 8 years they under Bush, were able to cause the worst economic disaster in history..And yet they recovered all their losses and they will create the same economic crisis again if given their way...
Until we are able to have real political choices that are not influenced by this corporate mafia we risk losing whats left of our Democracy.

interrupted the President's immigration announcement to ask why he prefers foreigners over Americans, repeatedly.

No respect, none. Aside from the phenomenal stupidity of the pseudo-reporter's question, during press announcements, you do NOT interrupt the president. You allow the president to speak. When the president has finished the announcement, he then signals that he is open to questions.

At that point, all the reporters start piping up, and the President calls on them one at a time and answers their questions until out of time.

To add to the absurdity, the pseudo-reporter is, himself, an immigrant who has benefited by being a member of a favored group of immigrants, as opposed to the children of undocumented workers that Obama's plan targets.

As in, I got mine, fuck you. Rude jerk.

9. ALWAYS darkest before the dawn
Fri Jun 15, 2012, 05:00 PM
Jun 2012

that's what I believe, no matter what.

The darker it gets, the more certain the dawn will arrive. This is natural law.

I think it's already arriving, personally, even Obama's appearance has been a harbinger of hope, that's why so many hearts responded to him and still do.

Hearts are getting really thirsty. Even if the election is lost, he's going to keep changing the world. It's what he was always meant to do, he is just getting started. His whole beautiful family will always be on our side and I find this amazing. There are others. I have to keep stepping back to look at big picture.

As darkness dissipates in earliest dawn, there are still long dark shadows cast before the rising sun. Dark creatures still abound in those changing times. They become desperate as the light creeps toward them -- just like OWS, just like with Obama. Truth is death to them. They must crawl away or perish. In the darkness they may appear as respectable creatures, but in the sunlight their true hideousness is revealed. Soon they will have nowhere more to hide. Sunlight is the best for this, and I think it is happening very slowly but surely.

I will remain optimistic till my last breath.

If the election is lost, we're fucked six ways to Sunday. If you really think that the baggers are going to back off without us actively fighting back, you are, with all due respect, a big part of the problem. There won't be any sunlight until we completely dismantle the right wing media machine. We have had a number of opportunities over the last 20 years, and each time we don't take one of them, the problem gets worse.

as well, which is not about the election but about longer term big picture.

Because if he loses the election we are not going to give up, people with heart and conscience are going to keep on going, and pushing; and change is happening, and it's going to keep happening, no matter what.

What is part of the problem is accusing another DUer of being part of the problem, & for no good reason, to boot.

Romney aides staff members heckled and disrupted a speech by Axlerod.

In Cleavland The Romney bus circled and tooted its horn at Obama's campaign event.

Now we have a blogger for a conservative website interrupting Obama's speeches.

Oh, that Rmoney and his practical jokes. Who cares if it interferes with the democratic process?

I agree, this is going to get much worse. We had Mrs. P's KKK rallies last election cycle. The baggers will have to outdo themselves this go-around.

this year and have been disabled for the last 7 years. SSD and Medicare are my only sources of income/insurance but I'm not concerned for myself. I have 2 adult children with serious health problems. One is 25, the other is 21. Neither can get health insurance and can't work full time due to their health. Under the GOP's plan neither will be able to get insurance even if they are able to work full time. We have no family to fall back on. I have nothing to leave them when I die. The only way we can keep a roof overhead is by living together. I've lost all hope for my childrens' future. Not a very uplifting post - I apoligize for being such a downer. I don't feel sorry for myself, there are many worse off than I. My concern is for my children. The election will be stolen and we all will be fucked.

there is no fight on our side. There are a number of posts declaring that if Rmoney wins in November, that will turn out OK because the teabaggers will abandon him. What is sickening is that there are people who actually believe that - that by letting the fascists get away with more and more extortion, intimidation, murder, treason, and so on, that eventually the fascism will eventually burn itself out. One of the posts actually says, "I'm not worried about Rmoney winning - I am taking a long-term view"

How, with attitudes like that, are we ever going to fight back?
