The profile of an average Trump supporter.

More than anything, they are angry.

Most of them are angry Republicans. They are very angry at Mitch McConnell and the Republican leadership in Congress.

Many of them belong to the NRA.

Most of them are not college-educated.

Almost to a person, they hate Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Although they would deny it, many of them are racists.

Most of them react to emotion, rather than facts.

They support Donald Trump, no matter what he says or does.

He is a blue-collar billionaire, just like them.

11. They've been conditioned to.

The right wing spent the last ~40 years crafting a narrative that poor whites WANT to believe. Namely, that their lives would be wonderful if it wasn't for all the (black) welfare moochers, the tax-and-spend Democrats, the Mexicans taking their jobs, etc.

If you can put aside the terrible damage it's done to our social fabric, you have to just be in awe of how well it has worked. Not just because they bought it, but because they continue to vote for Republicans despite THEM being the ones actually doing that all! CORPORATE welfare moochers. Cutting taxes only for the rich, and raising them for everyone else (sales taxes, etc.), out of control defense spending, jobs shipping overseas by corporations.

Childhood friend, looked me up long enough to figure out that I'd become one of those evil libruls. He seemd to be a wet brain alcoholic now who is so far down the Fox News rabbit hole that he'll never emerge. Too bad, he figured large in my life when I was younger and he was happier.

And don't think either party really gives a shit about this.

7. I think he gets a substantial amount of support from Democrats that have lost their jobs.

Those that have become disenchanted with all politicians. Donald is not a "politician". They find that appealing.

...that all of Donald Trump's supporters are hood-wearing racists with low IQs and to campaign against him as such.

Could wind up waking up the morning after election day asking, "WTF happened?"

538 crunched numbers on this and in fact his supporters have been LESS likely to have had job loss due to this factor.

They are Americans making between $50-55K a year with shitty benefits and no pensions that have identified their mortal enemy as their fellow Americans who are making between $53-58K a year with halfway decent benefits or pensions

12. That doesn't basically describe the "average" voter of any political stripe?

More than anything, they are angry.

Applies to pretty much everyone.

Most of them are not college-educated.

Which means what? A lot of people of various political persuasions don't have a college education, and even the ones that do, it doesn't always mean that much.

Almost to a person, they hate Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Hating a politician from another party. Wow, that's rare.

Although they would deny it, many of them are racists.

The racist part, whatever, yeah, fine, but the deny part. Do you readily accept whatever bad word people of a different political bent than you use to describe you? I'm guessing no.

Most of them react to emotion, rather than facts.

Again, this applies to pretty much anyone. Who reacts to facts without emotion? Even if someone says "this fact about that will kill you if you do X", the reaction to that is a feeling of not wanting to die, even though at some point you will in fact die no matter what you do.

People pick and choose which facts to make an argument with, and choose not to listen to any facts that go against them. That's the beauty of stats; you can make them say anything you want.

They support Donald Trump, no matter what he says or does.

Welcome to politics? If we agree with someone, we can justify and rationalize anything about them. If we don't, we can find any possible justification or rationalization to not support them.

He is a blue-collar billionaire, just like them.

You're not even trying with that one anymore. If people didn't vote for rich people who say they're just like the little people, who in the hell would be in any political office? The person down the street? You don't want them in charge. Have you seen what the average voter thinks?

14. There are two general types of Trump Voters
Thu Sep 1, 2016, 10:06 AM
Sep 2016

1) the flat out hate filled loons he gets at his rallies.

2) Republicans who have been so brainwashed about the evil liberal boogyman that even if they know he is a full on POS scumbag, in their minds they can't NOT vote for him because doing otherwise would be enabling satin.
