HELENA, MONTANA Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Gianforte has given another $660,000 to his campaign as he and incumbent Democratic Gov. Steve Bullock began flooding the airwaves with ads.
The Bozeman technology entrepreneur has given his campaign more than $1.6 million total, and he pledged to match every contribution he receives.
Including Gianfortes contributions of $650,000 in cash and $10,579 in in-kind expenses, his campaign collected $837,918 between July 28 and Aug. 27. Thats according to campaign finance reports filed Thursday.
He spent more than $641,000 during that period. More than $483,000 of that was spent on television, radio and online advertising.

(58,785 posts)newspaper, 3 were about Republican Gianforte, 1 about Democrat Bullock paying back some money owed. But apparently Dems are spending significantly more money so far.

(112,119 posts)Over the past several months that I've been covering the story in the primaries and beyond I have grown to despise Gianforte. He fits the mold as far as the type of governor that Montana does not need.

(58,785 posts)Republican in this era who are suited to govern. Honorable, sensible, moderate conservatives backed away a long time ago, unwilling to promise what they'd need to get enough support.
