The End Is Near For Fox News As Network Faces A Bloodbath If Trump Loses

http://www.politicususa.com/2016/09/02/fox-news-network-faces-bloodbath-trump-loses-election.html

The end is near for the current era of Fox News. The network could be facing what is being reported as a bloodbath and outside competition from Donald Trump if the Republican nominee loses the election in November.

The always excellent Gabriel Sherman reported in New York Magazine:
Many people I spoke with believe that the current management arrangement is just a stopgap until the election. “As of November 9, there will be a bloodbath at Fox,” predicts one host. “After the election, the prime-time lineup could be eviscerated. O’Reilly’s been talking about retirement. Megyn could go to another network. And Hannity will go to Trump TV.”

The prospect of Trump TV is a source of real anxiety for some inside Fox. The candidate took the wedge issues that Ailes used to build a loyal audience at Fox News — especially race and class — and used them to stoke barely containable outrage among a downtrodden faction of conservatives. Where that outrage is channeled after the election — assuming, as polls now suggest, Trump doesn’t make it to the White House — is a big question for the Republican Party and for Fox News. Trump had a complicated relationship with Fox even when his good friend Ailes was in charge; without Ailes, it’s plausible that he will try to monetize the movement he has galvanized in competition with the network rather than in concert with it.
...

What is unavoidable is that the future direction of Fox News is tied to the fate of the Donald Trump campaign. If Trump loses and decides to launch his own cable network to compete with FNC, the current cable news ratings leader will be faced with their nightmare scenario of talent overturn and outside competition at the same time.

For months Fox tried to stop Trump from being the nominee. They were for Jeb!, then Rubio. He wont forget. He'd like nothing better than to destroy Fox News for being biased against him early in the primaries.

I think though that their demise is overstated. They do better when they have elected officials to complain about. If we take over all houses of government, their audience will need feeding. Fox Entertainment would be the perfect vetted source of faux scandals and hyperbole.

It was chuck schumer who slide the authorization into a must pass bill in the middle of the night right before the next mornings vote that gave Murdock the green light that allowed him to have a somewhat pseudo 'news' organization here in the good ol USA. Remember faux won a lawsuit in Florida that lets them pass off opinion as 'news' as well not too many years ago. Again if my memory serves me right

Someone will say something on that neanderthal channel. It will most likely become popularized with a glancing mention of politics. Their viewers want amusing, bright, shiny, colorful, moving things they can use to distract themselves from their real lives.

News is just no fun at all.

I think to many of his followers, that means he would "help them get rich." Uh, no folks. Donald Trump has ever only been about one person: Donald Trump.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Imagine the illegitimate love child of Faux "News" and QVC.

You can order Trump steaks at the same time you are hearing about those horrible Muslims.

However, considering that the Faux demographic is low-income, low-education, white men over 60, this would be a challenge even for Trump to monetize.
