The world has changed for you. You may or may not be working. You are, of course, worried about your future and how you will provide for your family.
I get it. I've been there. And I may soon be there again right with you.
Some of you have bought some of the crap that politicians fling at you/us.
Some of you may actually believe the bullshit they throw at us.
So let me be blunt here. Politicians, like Trump, and all the others in your district who are promising you a better future, are lying to you. They don't really give a shit if you live or die. They only wan't your vote to put them in a position of power.
And American corporations only give a flying fuck about selling you stuff. They are only interested in their bottom line, not you.
So think about this. Almost everything you buy is made in China, Vietnam, the Philippines, or anyplace else in the world where labor is cheap.
Read the label on everything you are wearing or on everything you own.
Donald Trump has made his money through cons, scams, lawsuit settlements, and 100% pure bullshit. He hasn't even paid the people who worked for him and who have left or were fired during his current campaign. (If you don't believe me, Google it.)
So here's my point. Many American politicians have a history of screwing their constituents (us). And the Republican Party has screwed us far more than the Democratic Party has ever dreamed of.
And now we're faced with Donald Trump. You want to talk about who will fuck you more? Holy shit! If you won't or can't see that this man wants everything that everyone owns, and wants to be "Emperor" of the world, put your brain in gear and give it some thought.
If you think our political system has spent decades screwing us, then go ahead and vote for Trump. Just be ready when someone walks up to you and says "Papers please." And you damn well better have those "papers." And you had better fear for your own well-being and safety if you don't have them.

(466 posts)(and I have heard it from Trump supporters I know) is that he is _not_ a politician. He is _not_ a Washington insider. He may be an unknown quantity, but they are willing to take a chance on him because they don't trust Washington insider politician types who have been screwing them over for decades.

(28,394 posts)"He tells it like it is!" and "He's a businessman; he'll bring jobs!" are two of the frequent reasons for supporting him. Both based on nothing.

(466 posts)The politicians have been promising those people the sun, moon, and stars for more than 30 year, and haven't delivered. They figure they have nothing to lose at this point.

(6,640 posts)and they either failed or just limped along for years. Some business owners actually mistreated their employees. A lot of businessmen don't know how to run a business. They just hire people to do it for them. Trump is one of those.

(8,964 posts)Our local newspaper, paper and digital copies, allow up to four published letters per year per physical address. And having this info at the ready for "polite rebuttal" if and when the subject comes up, is always useful. And yes, there are those that are so hard-baked in their position that nothing will be effective. I detect others who are getting a lot of mixed messages from divergent sources, and don't seem to know exactly where the truth lies (no pun intended!). Those are the people who can be persuaded. An in the absence of tactful persuasion they can make the wrong choice.

(53,410 posts)Whenever any fact rears its head around Trump supporters they stick fingers in their ears and say, "Lalalalalalalallalalalalalallalallaaaah!"
Although occasionally one or two will actually hear the fact and then you get the dear in the headlights look just before they do the above.

(21,740 posts)There is NOTHING worse than getting stiffed by an unscrupulous contractor.
Trump has a history (a very long history) of stiffing people who work for him.
Think about the time(s) that happened to you.
And then tell me you would vote for THAT guy to be President.

(15,035 posts)Anyone, who has ever gotten screwed out of what they are owed by someone for whom they did work, google Trump's history of screwing people he owed for services rendered.
The immigrants who worked in his hotels and on his golf coursed couldn't sue because they were afraid of getting deported. But citizen contractors who did work for him, and then got screwed out of what they were owed, have filled the courts for decades demanding pay from this serial criminal.
So go ahead and vote for him if you are so inclined. And then prepare to get screwed deeper than you ever have been in your life.
