Just incredible that this is a headline that's running in September 2016. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/pence-trump-obama-birther-comments-227840
SAN DIEGO -- Mike Pence on Wednesday declined to say whether Donald Trump should apologize for suggesting Barack Obama was born outside the U.S., but he did say Trump's stance wouldnt hurt him with minority voters...
Pence did not say, when asked, if Trump should apologize for the comments. I think Donald Trumps record both as a business man and as a political leader and as a patron in supporting minority efforts and particularly supporting the advancement of the African American community really speaks for itself, he said.
For Pences part, the Indiana governor said he does believe Obama was born in Hawaii, as his birth certificate states and has been exhaustively documented...
Well I believe Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, I accept his birthplace," Pence told reporters during a brief gaggle aboard his campaign plane before a fundraising event here.

"Trump's stance wouldnt hurt him with minority voters..."
Hell, nothing says support for the 'advancement of the African American community' like denying the citizenship of our nation's first black president.
Pence reminds me of the majority of Americans' attitude throughout the 40-plus years of Jim Crow. They knew the racism was wrong, but didn't lift a finger to confront it. He either walks away from his birther running-mate, or remains a willing accomplice to Trump's almost ceaseless campaign to label President Obama as a Kenyan.
