Hillary Should Be LAUDED For Pushing Through Her Illness Not Criticized. Pure Sexism Here.

If Hillary were a man or sports figure she would be receiving millions of accolades for showing determination, courage and hutzpah for pushing through her pneumonia to pay tribute at the 9/11 site. She must have been very exhausted during that event. She was going to lose either way. Had she revealed her illness and stayed home she would have been vilified even more for demeaning the memory for the 9/11 dead. She would have been called unAmerican, unpatriotic and pro terrorist.

Other politicians have hidden their illnesses. FDR hid his disability through three terms and won WWII and saved the planet. He died before the war was over and essentially gave his life in the end to serve. He suffered greatly with those iron leg braces with leather straps. Ronald Reagan was sick in office and even had Alzheimers. And he was praised even though he was essentially brain dead the last few years of his presidency.

And Hillary is vilified. What a piece of shit. Any progressive should be defending her and attacking the media for its malfeasance.

Trump's supposed "foundation" actually is a really really big story and few are covering it. Pure bullshit.

The Trump Foundation story is a far bigger story. Any real journalist would love to delve into that one.

government officials long ago, of committing serious felonies as routine business practice, before the Republicans nominated him. Where was the investigative journalism?

Now some crimes are leaking out in spite of an effective MSM blackout. Where's the investigative journalism? Busy "investigating" what "really happened" during the 90 minutes Hillary was at her daughter's house recuperating. And something about "9 hours."

At least we have David A. Fahrenthold of the Washington Post who has gone after Trump's charity claims like a bull dog. We could certainly use more like him, instead of these parrots who just repeat what everyone else is saying.

Generally speaking, the MSM has been turned. The lies are extremely long-term and extremely pervasive, not just talking heads and writers we recognize but at least one giant news service.

A couple weeks ago the AP blanketed the entire United States, including all news media and most households, with a bald-faced lie about HRC and the Foundation that wasn't even supported by the explanation in its article.

This jumped out only because it was more obvious than thousands of other distortions and lies. Google AP and fact check and you get AP's fact checking. I couldn't find that anyone routinely fact-checks the AP, including sites like Media Matters.

?@paulkrugman Paul Krugman Retweeted Mike Memoli
Something definitely wrong at the AP. Doing it *again* after the Clinton Fn disaster suggests someone with agenda

And I so agree that Hillary should be respected for her determination to push through. No doubt she's done it before and thought this would be the same--private misery, job done.

The corporate media is often creating the story. We are living in a scripted world. Everything is Reality TV.

there is a big streak of ageism going on here, IMO.

As a women in her 60s, who managed to survive a bout of Walking Pneumonia a couple of years ago, watching all these young "broadcast journalists" go on and on (and on!) about Clinton's health makes me want to scream.

I'm tired of being patted on the back every I work sick. We've create a culture in which we're expected to drop dead doing our jobs.

Now I know a presidential campaign is different from a normal job. It's far more punishing and far more public, so that every single decision is examined under a microscope, but I still hate all the talk about "powering through."

It seems like this would be the perfect opportunity for news outlets to examine our out-of-control work culture, in which people, even those who get sick leave, are expected to come in and work 80 hours weeks unless they are on their deathbed. It is insane.

Rather than praising women for exposing others to their contagious diseases, we should be criticizing men for doing it.

That picture of Hillary with the little girl as she left Chelsea's on Sunday kind of made me angry after they announced that she has pneumonia.

The wise thing would have been to stop campaigning and stay home and rest a couple of days. She was faced with revealing her condition and staying home or pushing forward on antibiotics. She loses either way because she had to assess if she would be treated worse by opting out of 9/11 activities.

Had she stayed away she would have been vilified for disrespecting the dead, first responders, veterans, the flag, the country, etc, etc, She chose to push through. Had she not stumbled with video little would have become of the situation. Also had she stayed home she would have been framed as weak and selfish.

I was not recommending pushing through in my post.
