4. Yeah, it's like the internet. Each subreddit has it's own culture.

Ask Historians usually has very good discussions about history (professional historians often get involved). Neutral Politics is one of the better places for political discussion. They're both heavily moderated. I've found Academic Biblical Studies, Bad Linguistics, and Out of the Loop to all be pretty interesting (just to name a few). There are terrible subreddits as well. Again, it's like the internet - it all depends on where you are.

6. Reddit is huge, honestly too huge for me to even be able to spend any time on it.

There's some incredibly informative stuff in there, but I feel like it's one of those swamps that I'd like to wade into when I have the available time & mental energy, which doesn't seem to crop up much these days.

I don't think it can be categorized as "right" or "left"- I'm sure all political views are represented somewhere, there. One thing Reddit-in-general does seem to have across the proverbial board, is a solid anti-censorship ethos, which I suspect is what actually bugs some people about the site.

It's "liberal" on any issue that affects educated white men (like college tuition, legal pot, gay marriage, etc), otherwise it is right-wing and hostile to feminists, POC, and those not in STEM fields. It's a breeding ground of "Alt-Right" Trumpism.

Mention any positive thing about Feminists and you get deluged by angry man-babies calling you an "SJW cuck".

What I meant was that a lot of Redditors are from privilaged backgrounds and think being for legal weed, gay marriage, and free college tuition is the be-all and end-all of being liberal.
