2. Two men who make me proud to be from Texas...

I went to college at The University of Texas in Austin and majored in Communications. There were proud signed photos of Bill Moyers in the buildings that taught Radio-TV-Film and Journalism.

My grandmother was proud to have voted for LBJ, and was prouder still to be invited, on occasion, to functions where the guest list included Lady Bird Johnson.

In this day and age when Texas is so disparaged because of the Bush family, Rick Perry, Ted Cruz, and all of the other embarrassments who seem to find such fertile ground my home state, it warms me to remember these icons of the liberal cause: LBJ, Bill Moyers, Molly Ivins, Ann Richards, and in the newer ranks, Wendy Davis.

Thanks for posting.
