Twenty-three Jailed Water Protectors Being Denied Attorney Visits

http://indigenous-network.com/twenty-three-jailed-water-protectors-being-denied-attorney-visits-no-dapl/

Morton County Sheriff’s Office is denying jailed water protectors contact with an attorney, so they are unable to post bail tonight.

More than 20 water protectors were arrested today defending the Missouri River water from the construction of Dakota Access Pipeline.

Cody Hall, media spokesperson for Red Warrior Camp, said jail staff are using the excuse that none of the Standing Rock Camp attorneys are licensed in the State of North Dakota.

Hall said police in riot gear with semi-automatic weapons arrested the water protectors today.

And why don't the protesters have a member of the ND bar in their camp?

This is considered equal rights for a Native tribal person. After all these centuries, you'd think ONE TREATY could be honored! This would be the first, but as usual, they are willing to kill us first.

but they're not grown for "export". "Local kine" ones, however, are much tastier than the Cavendish variety we're used to. I was in my mid-30s before I realized that bananas had flavor!

The industry settled on the Cavendish as the standard because it ships well. Same reason supermarket tomatoes suck, even in California.

But now the Cavendish is threatened by a disease similar to the one that wiped out its predecessor, the Gros Michel. (Hence the song "Yes, We have No Bananas". ) You'd think someone would take the opportunity to create a hybrid that is both disease-resistant and yummy!

They have side shoots that are taken off to make new plants.

I grew a ladyfinger in a pot and brought in indoors in winter. It did bloom one year but no fruit set. It got big and I left out, and the frost killed it. I have a banana now that is just grown for the leaves, to wrap stuff when cooking.

For years I have hated them, because they tasted like garbage. Then the farmer's market had some heirloom beefsteaks. When iI ate one, Madonna's Like a Virgin went through my head. It was so good, just like the very first time.
