16 for 16 on PBS

PBS started profiling 16 former candidates putting them 2 per category.

http://www.pbs.org/show/contenders-16-16/

Last week there were the "straight talkers" - Shirley Chisholm and John McCain. (And when I watched McCain's graceful concession in 2008 I wondered whether we would ever see anything graceful from Trump).

Earlier this evening there were the "Flame throwers" - Dean and Buchanan.

Next week there will be Dukakis and Romney and after that, I think, Gary Hart and Jesse Jackson.

I could not help, with this evening program, to see how Dean in 2004 was the "template" (for lack of a better word) for Sanders in 2016, and Buchanan for Trump. They all wanted "our country back" in one form or another.

Buchanan was as racist and bigoted as Trump today.
