We can reach fish side dish detente! Hush puppies with jalopeno are better with fish than grits with no cheese or butter. Buttery cheese grits are the starch of The gods! But this America! 2 weeks ago when we fried fish, we had both.

Next time we can debate the best fish for frying!!

You have a very nice evening!

And BTW I graduated HS in Arkansas.

Add a little cole slaw and the aforementioned hush puppies and you've got a meal.

is to refuse to give him any fish,
refuse to give him a rod and reel,
refuse to give him any training or education,

and to yell and humiliate him and insist that that will give him an "incentive" to learn to fish.

after all, that's what jesus would do, right?

"Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Yell and scream at hungry man for not being able to fish and for being a lazy self-entitled bum, and you'll feel smugly self-righteous for a lifetime."

On the sides of the road. It's not as if the fishermen are blocking access, they just are the "right kind" for the boaters to be close to.

One of my favorite things to do with leftover fish. They're particularly good made with leftover salmon.

When I was taking anthropology one of the discussions got into supplying food that met the local food tastes. At the time, there were problems supplying enough protein to Peruvians because the fish catches were all very small fish, too small to fillet or cook normally. Experiments were being done with grinding up the whole fish into fish meal then concocting foods out of that. The professor asked for suggestions of how to make fish meal palatable. One of the most common suggestions was to make fish patties or cakes - but that had been done and the taste and texture just were not acceptable.

During the freeform discussion after that one man suddenly sat up and with a gleam in his eyes he shouted out "MARSHMALLOW CREAM!" We all stared at him and he insisted that everything tasted good with marshmallow cream and it should be tried with the fish meal. After that we ignored him.

I'm not sure if anyone ever found a use for the fish meal.
