How can I be sure that I'm panicking enough?

I read half a dozen polls, and it doesn't seem like I should panic at all. Then I read a half dozen others, and I realize that I should definitely be panicking.

And then I check in on DU, and a slight majority tells me that no matter how much I'm panicking, I should be panicking more.

I don't want to panic more than is absolutely necessary, because that would simply be wasted effort. But if I panic too little, then don't I risk single-handedly tanking Clinton's chances?

What's a little ol' Liberal supposed to do?

Get Out The Vote.

I have canvassed every week for the last 5 in Ohio.

If you don't live in a swing state there are ways you can phone bank from wherever you are.

There's a limit to the amount of people who will vote for Trump. He's never made it above the low 40s in averaged national polls. The danger is people who don't want him thinking "it'll be OK" or "he can't be that bad".

Here's a talking point to convince people it matters: if Trump were to win the presidency, and the Senate split 50-50 (the most likely split at the moment), and the Republicans win the House (the most likely outcome), then the Republicans control it all. Not only will Trump be in charge without a Democratic Senate or House to oppose him, Paul Ryan will get his budget through - in which three quarters of tax cuts go to the richest 1% in the 1st year, and 99.6% of tax cuts to the 1% by 2025.

Ryan will steal people's money, while Trump starts wars by insulting the world and deciding to "take their oil".

Hillary is winning the commercial war.

If you are still panicking, go check out 538. Nate Silver's site will keep you positive. You better hurry however, this is as close as it will be. After the debate, I predict 70-30 splits in favor of Hillary.

Too much panic too soon and you'll have no energy left for the final push.

I'm saving the panic for an actual Drumpf win and spending the energy on actual productive work.

See if you can get involved with get out the vote or phone banking or doing something to make you feel like you are making a difference.

I am cautiously optimistic sprinkled in with a healthy dose of concern… None of us can be complacent in this election cycle.
