And he has a safety harness on. Not impressive. It takes away any thrill.

It takes away the impressiveness of the stunt. And for the record, as thick as the wire is, with a safety - I probably would.

But with the safety on I'd give it a try. I walk steel beams on skyscrapers for a living. Well, when it's called for anyway. Not much being built recently.

over a long distance? It's an accomplishment that few could do. I'd rather he not risk his life to do it. That leads to tragedy.

Whose thrill? I could not justify someone risking their life to "thrill" me and I can be "thrilled" by many performances that don't include a risk of death at all (music, theater, etc.)

No one gives a shit if you can walk on a tightrope. If that were the case why would you even do it at height? The whole point of the stunt is the risk. Take the risk away and it becomes humdrum. That's why the best performers fly without a net. The death risk is the show.

To his credit, the performer did not want the safety harness. They made him wear it. He knows what the show is about.

tightrope walkers with nets or who weren't that high up. I don't expect people to risk their lives to entertain me.

If they fell to their deaths it would be horrible. I don't want to see that and can't imagine who would rather they risk that and call it boring if they don't.

I wouldn't consider doing such a thing any way. I must say I have seen the falls in the daytime they are beautiful at night, was there more light than normal?

His name was Philippe Petit. That was only 200 feet but he did it 8 times. 104 stories, no safety line.

Shame this guy had to be tethered. But this Alex Honnold kid is amazing. They did a piece on him on 60 minutes. He was amazing. I encourage all to look him up on YouTube.
