Someone Anonymously Slipped $8,000 Into An Animal Shelter’s Donation Box

An animal shelter in California is feeling quite paws-perous after a generous donation.

On Sept. 21, someone mysteriously dropped $8,000 into a Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA’s donation box, according to a post on the organization’s Facebook page.

“This was a wonderful surprise. The donation is going to really help us,” a spokesperson for the facility told the Pasadena Star News, a local news source.

The shelter told the outlet that staff noticed a new and large pile of crisp $20 bills appear around 11 a.m., which added up to a whopping $8,000.

No one saw or knows who dropped the wonderful wad of cash into the box, however.

I avoid animal stories because I'm too sensitive for them. But I'm glad I read this one.

By doing it that way you are not looking to get something in return. Be it praise, love or respect. You are truly giving from the heart.

Just when you think humans stink, someone proves us wrong. Thanks to the anonymous donor who chipped in to save the lives of homeless pets.

Family and friends who have done so simply bubble over with love for their furries. It doesn't even take a day to become bonded for life. The trust in their eyes breaks your heart.

Well done, Anonymous!

Granted that's usually her way of saying "get off the computer and pet me, and remember to use both hands", but in this case, I'll assume she was reading and that's what was making her purr.

Not dissing vets OR shelters, just lamenting the state of so many of the animals that show up in shelters and rescues. I was mistakenly given our Rescue's bill when I went to pick up my rescue doggie after vet services, and my eyes almost popped out of my head. And this vet gives the Rescue a discount.

It seems a lot of people dump elderly dogs when they can no longer afford their care, hoping that the rescue or shelter will fix their teeth, ears, back, etc.
