While the university said it was in the process of investigating the incident, it happened once again. According to KFYRT, the school is now being forced to investigate yet another incident of white female students who put on blackface and posted it on social media with the caption Black Lives Matter.
One facebook user posted the picture and tagged UND saying, the problem is growing worse here at UND.
A spokesperson told KFYRT that they are investing the incident but confirmed that the girls photographed do attend the school.
The schools president released a statement Thursday saying that he is appalled that within 48 hours two photos surfaced of students in blackface mocking the African American community. He admitted that the school clearly has a lot of work to do.
I am appalled that within 48 hours two photos with racially-charged messages have been posted on social media and associated with the UND campus community, university president Mark Kennedy said in the statement. It is abundantly clear that we have much work to do at the University of North Dakota in educating our students, and the entire university community on issues related to diversity, inclusion, and respect for others.
Kennedy went on to explain how disappointed he is that he has students who dont understand such things are inexcusable.

Earlier story this week from the SAME school....
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, UND student Etonde Maloke shared a photo of three laughing white students in a dorm room. The photo includes the caption, Locked the black bitch out.
My friend left her phone in her room and the three kids pictured below took her phone and took the snapchat pictured below, Maloke explained. They captioned it locked the black bitch out. My friend was not aware that they had done this and didnt even realize they had put this on her snapchat story until another friend of ours pointed it out.
We all know Racism is alive and well (whether you like to admit it not), she lamented. When said acts of racism happen at your school, it is infuriating and heart breaking.
In a statement posted to Twitter, the University of North Dakota said that it was aware of the incident and was in the process of gathering information.
What is portrayed is not part of the community values that we expound, the statement said. We take seriously issues related to respect for all.

(2,550 posts)The second picture is wrong, but I don't get the upset at black face.
The second picture is pretty disturbing.

(111,245 posts)and the original picture didn't have the racist comment. Back in the bad old days when I had zits, I used a green clay mask to good effect and it was a hell of a lot less controversial.
Back when blackface performing went out, a lot of performers both black and white were reluctant to give it up, since show biz people were often discriminated against and blackface meant they wouldn't be recognized on the street as such.
But yeah, that second picture is of three of mean girls who need to be separated by that school.
