Was there ever a more useless waste of time than this horsehockey?
I'm retired, home all day, and sight-impaired. We registered with the utterly toothless DNC list years ago and gave up.
I don't care if I'm flossing my teeth or picking lint out of my navel - the relentless robocalls make me furious. They come on both landline and our smartphones, both of which have call blocking options, which we use.
But not until we've been interrupted during whatever we're doing, and even after entering numbers into blocking, we still get the peremptory ring.
I hate telemarketing. And that includes political dial-ups. I know who I'm voting for, for Dawg's sake. Leave me alone!!! And get off my lawn!

(10,419 posts)It's just the nanosecond of distraction that makes me crazy. We get up to 6 a day. The last one was at 8:57pm (cut off after one ring by our call blocked function).
We'll be engaged in a very important discussion about the Red Sox lineup and -ringring-

(80,708 posts)Unfortunately now calls are made from overseas or otherwise have the origin concealed. But the law- which was pushed by a good many Dems, IIRC- did improve the situation.

(25,406 posts)The problem is all of the crooks, for example the "Rachel from Card Services" callers, who spoof the caller ID, don't tell you who they are, and try to get you to give them your credit card number and other personal information.
