Good god we're up against a cockamamie cult, one of the biggest ever created by a bent media empire. Two elections of GWB had me face-palming myself, and eyeing South American countries for refuge. I was six months unemployed during last of the GWB reign while indeed.com remained devoid of listings for my field throughout California. Now, there are 867 listings.
I won't go into all 800 reasons I find this republican campaign utterly ludicrous. Keith Olbermann has covered that as succinctly as anyone could. Thank heaven he's back on the prowl at GQ.
But the mind-numbing stupidity of those who refuse to acknowledge their own comforts created by current economic boon because they are convinced everything is horrible now and long for the peachy-keen glory days of republican greed because Fox Noize has them mesmerized has me waking every morning re-convincing myself it's not really a nightmare. That a new McCarthy era is the reality, and a real and omnipresent danger that such could, conceivably, cheat their way into power has me magnificently frightened.
And all that much more motivated to work on convincing young folks the importance of GOTV.

1. Did America ever really stop?

Grunting? It seems like they quieted down, grunted more softly, and gathered to grunt more privately, less publicly. All that's happening now is that fucker Trump has invited them to get loud, get public, and celebrate their grunting.

The anti-intellectual, anti-teacher, anti-public education, anti-thinking, anti-union, anti-regulation, anti-safety net, pro-theocracy, pro-xenophobia, greedy "it's all about me" darwinian "might makes right" mindset fed and nurtured by the Reagan Revolution, whose growth spurred the takeover of the Democratic Party by neo-liberals, grew the massive population of grunters to this point, ready for a new "leader."

2. Orwell was so prescient in his "1984"

The way the media and TPTB had people convinced that ignorance is strength and war is peace. we have seen this accomplished by Fox, et al. Right before our eyes after having been warned ahead of time.
It sounds hyperbolic, but we need all actual American patriots to vote in this s election.
And if we can "hold the line" now, we have to keep doing it until every Republican and Teabagger is gone from our Congress and the SC
