If I landed on MSNBC during channel surfing, (slim to none chance), I could use that timer as a countdown, minus 35 minutes to the MNF kickoff, which IS what I'll be watching.

it's all about hype and sensationalism! MSNBC a countdown clock, CNN a blast you out of your chair ad, and I haven't checked the other networks.
No plans to watch the hyped horse race. I can figure this out on my own without their help.
