Second Mystery Donor Leaves Pile of Cash in Donation Box at Pasadena Humane Society

Inspired by a mysterious donor who left $8,000 cash in a donation box at the Pasadena Humane Society last week, another anonymous donor left $2,000 in the box Tuesday along with a handwritten note.

On Saturday, the humane society received a "mysterious phone call" advising them to check their donation box, the Pasadena Humane Society said in a statement.

They were not able to open the box until Tuesday, because the humane society hosted the Wiggle Waggle Walk fundraiser event Sunday, and did not have the keys to the box, and then could not find the keys until Tuesday.

Inside the box, they found a white envelope which held $2,000 cash in $100 bills, and a note written on a Starbucks napkin that read, "Got the inspiration last week — Please save the animals for some of us it's all we have left," followed by a drawing of a heart.

It wasn't me, sadly I wish I could afford to do that. We've been adopting from PHS for decades.

That it wasn't from someone who could easily afford to give away that much.
