Very few things surprise me, anymore, but seeing Trump act like a responsible, rational adult would pretty much be at the top of that list.

He tried to hold her responsible for every policy decision of the last 30 years. She was not.
He cannot attack her character without opening up the can of worms that is his character.
I don't know how the aides could be disappointed. Did they expect him to outperform his showing in the prep sessions? Perhaps they were looking for more bombast. What he showed of that did not go over well.
Too bad they chose a lemon so dry and shriveled that they can't even make lemonade out of it.
