Confederate flag hung 'as a joke' removed from BYU student's dorm window (UT)

(KUTV) A Confederate flag hung from a freshman student's dorm window at Brigham Young University was done "as a joke," according to two women who created a petition to have it taken down.

The petition had 443 supporters, as of 5 p.m. on Tuesday ...

“He has respectfully declined to take it down,” they posted on Tuesday. “However, we are continuing to work with our fellow students and staff to address this issue in the most appropriate way possible.”

Eventually the flag came down. The two women said they were able to talk with the owner of the flag and respected the reason why they wanted it removed ...

2. It's BYU. Racism is baked into the cake.

Seriously, has anybody else actually read the Book of Mormon? The inferiority of dark skinned people is a major religious tenet and the point gets made over and over again in the whole very repetitive text.
