Positive Train Control - the lack of it is a travesty.

Positive Train Control (PTC) is an advanced system designed to automatically stop a train before certain accidents occur. In particular, PTC is designed to prevent: Train-to-train collisions. Derailments caused by excessive train speed. Train movements through misaligned track switches.

It was supposed to in place almost a year ago. But Congress saw fit to let is like three years. Or five if there is enough whining.

So, this was allowed in 2015. I wonder who controlled Congress then.

Just more infrastructure underfunded or unfunded. And just a few more dead and maimed. But who cares? I mean, who are these dead and maimed people? No one knows their names, right?

1. Eliminating public passenger rail has been a cherished Rethug goal since at least 1980.

The more train accident deaths, as far as they're concerned, the better.
