we are fortunate bill weld is not heading the libertarians.

Gary Johnson is dimwitted enough that the millenials may reconsider and vote for Hillary instead. If Bill Weld was at the top of the ticket it would be harder.

He is being interviewed on meet the press and sounds smart, especially when compared to Johnson.
He did say that Hillary is the most qualified to be president and he has a lot if respect for her.

Yet he is saying he is trying to get his ticket elected.

Interestingly enough, he is saying he would be concerned about getting Trump elected but he thinks they are past the spoiler status given they poll at 15 to 20 % in many states ( i did not check, thats what he said. )

He was running for Governor in MA against John Silber, BU President, who was just a nasty piece of work and more like a typical republican than Weld. First and last time I voted republcan. But he is what a traditional republican should be. He's not bat-shit crazy like the rest of them.

Only GOP vote I've ever cast. I've met him. He's intelligent, moderate, personable. He'd be a giant killer if he was at the top of the ticket.

His argument was that they spend nothing and are there. If they were on the debate stage everybody would know them and magically would flock to them.

If we would show a little more leadership on that at the national level, as Newsom and Blumenauer and Merkley have done, we could undercut their support significantly, particularly with Millennials.

What people refuse to get- particularly East Coast beltway types who still think pot is some fringey joke issue- is that those folks dont WANT a "reasonable republican". They really just want a solid progressive who believes in science and has a brain; who nevertheless understands that we need to stop sending cops into peoples' living rooms to drag them off in handcuffs for smoking a fucking PLANT.
