I thought he was going to shake the stupid thing clean off his neck!
Very unprofessional - but nobody is talking about it. And the thing that gets me about it - all of the head shaking was over facts that he could NOT refute, including things that he and el cheato said on tape!
Kaine cleaned his clock last night.

(17,862 posts)To deny that Trump said something stupid without actually saying the words. Fact checkers will need to go to the video as well on this one. It allows him to interrupt in a way without actually interrupting. Hopefully someone will be together a clip showing all the shaking.

(46,179 posts)that says debaters can't shake their heads that everyone should be up in arms about? Or maybe there are more substantive things to talk about?
What did you want someone to do to keep him from "getting away with it?" Jump up there and lock his head in place?

(12,310 posts)debating such as not signifying when your opponent is talking - which is why they lambasted Gore in his debate.
For years I was a trial lawyer - you don't signify like that when your opponent is making his case. You will pay for it if you do - yet this guy gets away it. I tell you what. Let a democrat do this and we will see what a double standard we have.

(46,179 posts)As a matter of fact, in a different post, I just shared that my students don't think any of the debates follow formal debating procedures.
I don't think "don't shake your head" falls within those rules.

(16,950 posts)All Pence really had to fall back on was the "Clinton bad, tsk tsk" demeanor. They have nothing of substance to run on except to remind people that some other folks out there also don't like the Clintons. So his head shaking disapproval was about all he had that could not be challenged and put away.

(4,187 posts)during the first presidential debate, that's all the MSM would be talking about weeks later.
But a Republican man does it, and it's not even noticed.
As I posted on another thread, Tim Kaine was much more likable -- much more human -- than Mike Pence last night. But for some reason, likability only matters to the MSM when we're talking about a female politician running against a male politician.
