all those old-fashioned neo-nazis and other assorted bottom-dwelling shitwits hadn't decided to try and rebrand themselves as something more internet age-friendly.

Also, when your side has been out of power for a while it's easy to cast yourself as "transgressive" and "standing up to the man". Sort of how all those "black helicopter" fed-hatin' militia types magically become support-our-troops patriotic flag-wavers the minute some goober like Dubya gets in the oval office. Rinse, repeat.

Assange is clearly full of shit, a self-promoting asshat if there ever was one. I admit to being sympathetic early on, to the wikileaks notion of radical transparency, but they blew whatever moral cred they had a long time ago.

Now they're just a joke, shilling for Putin and jerking off the Alex Jones crowd for 40% off their book.
