Trump Effect: Latino man punched from behind This is for Donald Trump

NOVEMBER 30, 2016 BY EGBERTO WILLIES

Trump surrogates want Americans to believe their eyes and ears are lying to them. I’ve been documenting the Trump Effect for a while now. A DailyKos reader alerted me to this incident along with the actual police report. It only got coverage in a small Gainesville, Florida news outlet, Gainsville.com.

We must inform America about all of these incidents that have the one common thread, the vile hate cauterized by the Donald Trump campaign, the Trump Effect. Of course, Donald Trump’s appointment of a white supremacist does little to assuage his vapid followers and to quell the fear of all ‘the others’ he spent months vilifying.

The police report describes the entire event. It is sad but given Trump rallies and his proclivity to incite violence; we expected it. VIC is the victim, Pablo J Echevarria. DEF is the defendant

Post-election, Trump supporter punched Hispanic man, police say

He was arrested Sunday

Caitlin Ostroff, Staff Writer
Nov 22, 2016

Two days after the general election, a man from High Springs, Florida, punched a Hispanic gas station employee in the back of the head, claiming the attack was “for Donald Trump,” Gainesville Police said.

After reviewing surveillance-camera footage from the Gate Food Post gas station, located at 3001 NW 13th St., GPD arrested Caleb Joseph Illig, 23, on Sunday on a charge of simple battery.

At about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 10 — a day after Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the presidential election — Illig sat inside a car at the gas station, according to the report. He noticed the Hispanic employee, a Gainesville resident, cleaning the parking lot and approached him.

. . .

After this, Illig and another person returned to the car and drove away. Illig told police he could not remember the incident, because he was on medication for bipolar disorder and drank alcohol that night, according to the report.
