As always, a cautionary tale

(3,284 posts)My son sent me a link to this a few months ago and I loved it. My musical taste runs toward classical and operatic, the grander the better, like Tosca etc. but this is a great version of an old classic given the rock treatment.
The lyrics never get old and seem to always be apropos for the time. Truly a classic song.
Try this one for rock drama. This is my favorite.

(3,284 posts)I think the other singer, Myles Kennedy, making it two part is what I especially enjoyed.

(43,053 posts)It's not that I'm against covers of classic songs.
I'm just against Disturbed doing covers of classic songs.
Or Disturbed doing any sort of song.

(43,053 posts)It's that bad. That weird little interlude where he starts screaming at his mother is cringeworthy.
I'm sorry, but the whole Nu-Metal thing is atrocious to me.
No offense to any Nu-Metal fans here, it's nothing personal, but I just find the genre pretty all around awful.

(41,885 posts)Disturbed is pretty much hit or miss with me--mostly miss, as is a lot of modern metal. Or Nu-metal if you prefer. I love, love Otep though
But, I found this particular cover compelling and powerful

(3,284 posts)I think my comment was "Oh My Dear God! I do like to wander off the reservation once in awhile and try something new but that will probably do it for "Disturbed" but I did like that live concert performance of the piece..
