Fuck the mainstream press before elections! And FUCK THEM NOW! They are not taking responsibility!

Last edited Sat Dec 31, 2016, 01:21 AM - Edit history (1)

Really, the fucking press/media/etc. enabled Trump.

"Both sides are equally bad! Look at the emails [but there was no scandal there!!]! Trump won't get elected so it won't harm the US if we make him seem normal. Trump doesn't need experience. His tax records don't have to be released." etc. etc.

And now, the fucking press is still pretending he is competent and pretending they didn't screw the United States of America.

I hear no apologies -- if there are any, they are very sotto voce. And so we have absolutely no indications that they will not repeat their fucking mistakes.

Les Moonves said it most clearly: "It may not be good for America, but it's good for CBS! ... We're making so much money!"

The millionaire and billionaire owners of the mainstream press seem not to give any concern for the people harmed by their failure to bring truth to the American people. They are willing to lie repeatedly, in important matters, as long as it brings them money, money, money!

The Founders of the Country would be ashamed of what has happened to the press, the Fourth Estate. And very egregious among these offenders are Chris Matthews, whose show tonight made me want to kick the damned tv set.

Any thoughts on this?

He said he repeatedly asked him how he could pass those ideas through the house, and chortled about his views before a group of three ass kissers. ("Oh, Chris -- you are right!&quot

He said Bernie could never raise taxes on the wealthy, but people in this country have done it before and it will be done again, if the world doesn't end before then.

ON the other hand, Chris Matthews is a millionaire and he works for millionaires, for corporations. Embracing Bernie's views will cost him money and he sure don't want that. What a greedy, lying jerk!

They should have been throwing a lot more resources into digging into the many, many conflicts of interest of DT; and instead, half the reporters had nothing to do but talk about Hillary's emails.

Fri Dec 30, 2016, 11:37 PM

to say: it is bad! bad! bad!

Remember Kerry with the Swift Boat ads in 2004? He didn't believe the American public would believe those lies. But they did believe those lies, in large part because Kerry did not hammer them repeatedly. Hitler and Goebbels knew that if you say a big lie repeatedly, repeatedly, then people will be persuaded.

I want the truth in big letters, now, tomorrow and always! And our press is absolutely not delivering!

We can say "People should know these things", and it seems to be the same reasoning that we might say that everyone should have voter ID. That kind of reasoning - along with the view that everyone should floss every day - is just impractical. People just aren't going to follow those aspirational guidelines. We have to make it as easy as possible to know the truth.

can't change that because the viewers aren't going to invest the time to learn what they don't care about. Few are going to watch an in depth documentary to learn about Social Security or something. And if they did, they'd still come away saying they want control over their own retirement. Their truth is not ours and media will likely never change that.

Don't you think so?

I love Obama but I sure as hell wish that he had called out the Republicans early and often -- such as about the Caucus Room Republicans. He knew about it, but pretended that the Republicans didn't hate him, but they sure as hell did.

Ted Strickland lost his close race for Governorship in Ohio in 2010 and he said that he lost in large part because Obama did not define the differences between the Dems and the Reps. Let's sure hope the Dems define the differences now that social security, medicare, medicaid, the EPA, banking regulations, etc., may be gutted.

That brings up another point that I think has had a huge part in the downfall of news. Names mentioned above had an hour per evening or a finite space on paper to report on what was really important. The 24 hrs news channel is not conducive for news that is independent/non-bias and of consequence.

Action starts with each one of us. Stop cooperating with crooked media parading lies as "news." Just shut the fucking thing off or use it to watch movies or sports. Listen to good music. Take a walk once in a while.

Honestly, the habit is easy to break.

I stopped watching in 2004. I found I was better informed by Simpsons reruns (only other thing on, no cable) that I ever had been by any of the networks. My blood pressure started to go down and I'm off medication (ymmv) and the world became a more pleasant place to live in.

I do read BBC. I keep up a subscription to the online WaPo, the local paper sucks. I did tune in to the last 5 minutes of Olbermann when he was on and I knew one of his righteous rants would be scheduled. And that's it.

Unless monopolies are broken up and unless the crooked bastards like Moonves are shown the way to the unemployment office, I can't imagine turning those lying sacks of shit and their weak attempt at infotainment back on. They suck. They lie. They lost me.
