At Mar-a-Lago on New Year's Eve Trump Promises Very Rich He Will Cut Their Taxes and Kill Obamacare

Rich Revelers Shriek in Excitement at Prospect of 20 Million Losing Healthcare

Donald Trump took in an estimated $420,000 Saturday night during his for-profit New Year's Eve black-tie bash at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach. The president-elect at one point took to the stage to promise his ultra wealthy guests at the $525+ per-person celebration that he will cut their taxes, and kill Obamacare and regulations. They cheered, loudly.

"All I can tell you is, we're going to do a good job," Trump told his paying guests.

"Your taxes are coming down, regulations are coming off," the president-elect told revelers. "We're going to get rid of Obamacare," Trump promised, to wild cheers.

Obamacare, also known as the Affordable Care Act, is responsible for bringing the uninsured rate to the lowest point in history. Thanks to President Barack Obama's historic namesake law, at least 20 million more people today have access to affordable healthcare, adult children can stay on their parents' health insurance program until age 26, the concept of pre-existing conditions is a thing of the past – meaning no one has to go bankrupt to pay their medical bills – and insurance companies have been required to end sleazy policies and practices.

But Trump and his uber-rich guests cheered the imminent demise of those vital protections for the middle class and those with fewer resources than they have.
