... his argument is that (im)moral intent is implicit in the word "lie," and thus using it takes the judgement out of the hands of the readers. He never suggested not reporting what Mr Trump said, just not characterizing it as a lie. He does seem to be oblivious to the problem created of equating factual truth with falsity, or at least ostensibly so.
