(25,225 posts)she had 3 million more popular votes than Trump. I'm just curious that she doesn't have more of a presence now. We know if it was the other way around and she were the President-Elect now that Trump surely wouldn't be out of the picture. He would be tweeting with every move that Hillary would make.
I'm troubled by the fact that she was the de facto leader of our Party and now she has just dropped out of existence. I would like her to be more vocal now. She certainly is smarter and more politically astute than Trump. She has/had a plan for this country should she be taking the oath of the Presidency on Jan 20th.
I'm just thinking she should be more visible and vocal now.
Has the Democratic Party abandoned her?

(25,225 posts)I'm concerned and that's why I asked the question above - Has the Democratic Party abandon Hillary? Are they shutting her out? If so - that's really dirty pool.

(146,262 posts)She has no power. She isn't an elected official. She has no government position. What do you think she can do?
We failed to elect her as President. I imagine she's going to simply retire and live the rest of her life as a private citizen. That's what I'd do.
If she speaks out, she'll be called a "sore loser." If she doesn't, some will attack her for that. During her campaign, many people who should have been out working to help get her elected sat on their hands and complained. She lost the election.
What did you do to help her win?
I wouldn't blame her if she never said another word in public, frankly. We failed to elect her.

(25,816 posts)she still has the backing of the majority of voters. I voted for Hillary, as did the
vast majority of Sanders supporters, and like the OP. I would like to hear her voice
as regards the antics of the Republicans. I would be very disappointed if "she never said
another word in public". She still wields a great deal of power and has tremendous
respect in the party. I hope she is just resting and refueling.

(6,409 posts)She might feel she peaked, and it's time to pass the torch. The neoliberal strategy she helped develop seems to be declining. She might want to sit back and see how things shake out.

(6,409 posts)It involves soliciting support from the financial sector, which is the primary distinction between neoliberal and progressive or socialist Democrats. N eoliberals tend to prioritize social issues differently, showing a little more tolerance for free market principles, an aversion to "class warfare" rhetoric, etc. Probably the only meaningful distinction is the neoliberal reliance on large corporate donors, but the significance of that depends on your ideas about what it means to take money from corporations.

(23,931 posts)no one fought harder for us over the last 6 months
i may take issue with some specifics of how she approached said fight, but her overall effort was superb imho
in addition to all the slander and libel she fielded, all the disappointment and shame she may have felt wrt the outcome, she had to stand on a debate stage with Trump 3 times. if anyone deserves a break, it's her.
no reason for her to do anything publicly at the moment, time to let people organize in her absence
i expect she'll have something to say in a few weeks.
