This week on my Facebook page

I've been posting every week or so to my Facebook page stories about the incipient corruption and broken promises of the incoming Trump administration. In part I do this so that my like-minded friends have some ammunition in discussions with Trump supporters. In part, it's to shame Trump supporters for voting for this vile man.

Today's article is about the prospective Secretary of Energy, former Texas Governor Rick Perry (much snippage to get to the money quote):

Rick Perry’s Texas Giveaways

In theory, companies receiving Enterprise Fund grants were accountable for their job-creation pledges and had to make refunds when they fell short. In practice, the numbers proved hard to quantify and few companies had to make refunds. The watchdog group Texans for Public Justice determined that by the end of 2010, companies had created barely more than a third of the jobs promised, even with Perry’s administration having lowered the standard for counting jobs. And in 2014, the state auditor found that $222 million had been given out to companies that hadn’t even formally applied for funds or made concrete promises for job creation.

And my comment for Facebook is that Gov. Perry's high-flown rhetoric about job creation now appears not to match up with the actual reality. Instead, he used public funds as a piggy bank for private interests that weren't held accountable at all to work for the public good.

I wonder if Trump supporters are feeling like suckers yet, or if I'll have to keep doing this every week? Magic 8 Ball says, "Buckle up, it's going to be a long, bumpy ride."
