(40,416 posts)The last two DOE Secys have been physicists, one of them a Nobel Laureate.
The Donald has nominated somebody who has never taken a physics class.
BTW, the DOE controls all of the fissionable weapons grade material in the USA. That's why you want a physicist in that position, maybe even a Nobel physicist.
We're fucked. Utterly fucked.

(5,292 posts)I was driving along Sunset Blvd, near UCLA, and while stopped at the light, was admiring a gorgeous classic car. The driver, noticing I was admiring his car, smiled at me. I gotta tell you, when Rod Serling smiled at you, you wondered what he knew.

(296,848 posts)the Twilight Zone. I felt honored.
He and a group of his students from the University came into the Italian restaurant I was working at and I waited on them. Got his autograph.. then later I got a call at the restaurant and it was his friend asking if I wanted to come to this other place for a drink with them.
Couldn't go.. I was married. I wanted to though. That would have been fun!
