is anyone else just terrified?

Trump is nuts

If half the crap he wants to do is done, I will be dead.

I don't have ACA, have always had insurance through work but I do have a pre-existing condition.

I am officially on short term disability through at least Feb 1 possibly longer. My income is way less and if/when I do go back to work it will be very rough and the principal will make it her business to be rough on me.

Trump is nuts and out to destroy anyone he feels slighted him.

These lists he is making, his supporting Russia and wiki leaks and all of this stuff. I am just terrified scared out of my mind

Sad doesn't even really begin to describe it. I've been in what can only be called a deep depression over this. I'm still in the first stage of grief, I can't believe this is really happening. How could people be this shortsighted? This stupid? This gullible?

This is a person with absolutely no qualifications for this job, none at all. It's patently obvious to anyone with half a fucking brain that he is absolutely indebted to and in bed with Vladimir Putin.

We're in such a dangerous territory I really don't know what to think what to say anymore. We are in deep, deep, deep trouble. And I hope we're able to survive it.

Don't feel depressed. Do something.
Go out and walk to get your heart rate up. It will generate endorphrins which will help you feel better.

Listen to the Sibelius Violin Concerto or the Beethoven 4th Piano Concerto.

Don't let the sick human being damage your inner, mental and emotional health. That means, no matter what happens on the outside, he wins and you lose. He he that much stronger than you that he can do that to you? I don't think so.

If you can not keep your mind and emotions quiet when being attacked by this moron, how will you face your own death?

Now. Do something.. Write to your newspaper, your reps, call both. email leaders in congress.. Get a group together, make signs and demonstrate.. tell everybody you know what is happening... Learn to make MAPO DOFU and GONG BAO JI DING !!
All this may not help the situation, but it sure will help you deal with it..
Plus you will have some good food to eat.

organizations & politicians who will fight this guy to the end. Sure we cannot expect much good that Trump will do for us but he is not going to destroy us as there are checks & balances, procedures he has to go through to get a lot done.

The ACA is not going away soon if it ever does.

One thing you could consider is finding one of the organizations you can become involved with if you are able & work with them on fighting Trump. The ACLU also can always use volunteers & they do a lot of good work.

You will be OK. We all will be. Hang in there.

Fri Jan 6, 2017, 04:33 PM
Jan 2017

This is all happening because a bunch of people across the country felt slighted, and didn't like the fact that the "establishment" wasn't paying any attention to them...just like a three year old who throws a tantrum!

So, they voted for Trump because he attacked both parties and promised to bring change...change to D.C., something that everyone running for office, from the House of Representatives to the White House, has promised!

In other words, people who were dumber then a bag of hammers, voted so that their fellow Americans could suffer with them!

There is much to fear, people of color and women, have become the targets of the Rust Belt, and the Bible Belt...

Good luck to us all, we're going to need it!

But I'm going to get up every morning and call those bozos in Congress and tell them what I think about what they're about to do.

Call every week. Identify yourself, ask what your representative's position is on the matter at hand. Tell them what you think. Tell them you will primary them or work to replace them in the next election.

On January 15th my local county Democratic Party is having a Rally for Health Care. We have lined up speakers--health professionals and folks who will be effected with the repeal of Obamacare. Then on Monday the 16th we will be joining with the local NAACP for a Martin Luther King Day event.

We need to rally every chance we get---in every little town and big city around the country. Remember that the Tea Party was only small groups of people that got active and then they got attention--and money from the Kochs...but it started small.

Fri Jan 6, 2017, 08:16 PM
Jan 2017

My ancestors fought & died for this country, & I'm prepared to do the same.

I have a pre-existing medical condition & without the ACA I couldn't get insurance, which means I couldn't afford the medications that literally keep me alive (& thus able to run my small business, hire people - be a "job creator" - pay taxes, etc).

If Trump/GOP (& in reality this is a GOP establishment agenda) make it impossible for me to get the treatment I need to live? I'll probably die, so what the hell, if that's to be my fate I'll make sure I go out in a (well-publicized) blaze of glory, with my blood not just on their hands but splattered all over their anti-American anti-Christ immoral faces. In other words, in a way that gains major media coverage & shames them to the greatest possible extent.

I guess I've been able to come to this point now because I first came to this point during the GW Bush presidency. I knew all about the PNAC before Bush was elected, their Iraq invasion plans, & the cost in lives & treasure that would entail. It made me consider a fundamental question: Would I risk (or sacrifice) my life to stop the disaster I knew was coming? I had to say "yes," yes I would. If the sacrifice of one life (mine) could save thousands, or millions, then I would feel my sacrifice was noble, worthwhile, worthy, & one I am willing to make.

Sadly, I'm back to that point now. I never wanted to feel this again, but in a way, once you get to this point it's "freeing," because you cast off the chains of fear & focus only upon action... "what can I do?" And when you ask "what can I do" you focus only on what you can accomplish, what difference can you make, & not on the consequences to yourself.

And ... no matter how bad it gets under Trumpenfuhrer, I'm confident America will survive. I may not, but I've made peace with that. Millions have sacrificed their lives to make America great ... how could I possibly do any less?

I did not get into the primaries this time around. I like Bernie alot, but I never felt that he would be viable as a candidate. I've never been a fan of Hillary, and dearly wish that she had not even tried to run this time around. That said, I think she would be infinitely preferable to Trump.

If you're a fan of Bernie, and don't find Trump particularly objectionable, then you might find the Jackpine Radicals site more to your preference. http://jackpineradicals.com/ You're certainly likely to last a good deal longer there than here.

Once they've thoroughly rigged the election system and threatened everyone with nukes, there's no going back. Climate change and/or nuclear war is inevitable now. The subsequent resource wars will be the end of it. Geological history is littered with failed species, (think dinosaurs and neanderthals) I've suspected for a while that humans may join them.
