Why all this timidness in the past might be a good thing.

I believe that Obama thought at some level, perhaps deep in his head, that these creatures would be able to work with him
..why??? for the good of the country

Now, it seems clear to all , that they would sink our country, to get their liar clown elected.

Any thing goes ...stop the transportation bill, create a crises over the debt even though in the past there has never been any question about raising the debt...it doesn't matter..they would and will do anything..say anything and be anything to get rid of Obama.

And now, it looks like to me, Obama gets it, and will fight back. That is it

Perhaps he had to go through some phase to get it. Now he does.

Some of his language, Some of the ads, and his actions, especially his bold move on immigration, prove there is a change. and that change is necessary for us to win....He needed to feel their hate to believe it. I doubt he could believe it. But he does now.
Fighting fire with fire is the answer to these
terrorists. That is really all they know. They can throw it, but now they are going to get it back. It will be very very ugly...good.

Perhaps there is a unreal feeling when someone wins the Presidency unexpected. Most never thought he could win the nomination, let alone the election. I think that Obama wanted to give this "compromise view" a real try. He held meetings with the creatures, and tried to work with them as one would expect from an intellect. I think Kennedy tried it on social issues, and got nowhere. Johnson
used every tool, legal and illegal, and got things done.

I read that Obama wanted to facilitate "compromise" to evade war. Now he has learned the hard way. It can't be done. They hate him and now everyone knows it. Anything goes now. Obama will fight like they fight..
Maybe he just couldn't believe it. They hate him cause he is black, smart, and he
won. Now, He will fight like hell..We will see. good.

He offers to play ball with them, and every time they kick him in the knees and take the ball. Now, we know he's not a stupid man, and my perception is he doesn't have that Jimmy Carter "let me get some extra cheeks for you to smack" thing going. So why all these failed offers?

So later he can point and go "I tried to work with you guys. I tried really hard to, uh, be bipartisan and get everyone together on, uh, on fixing the problem. But you said no. That's what you said, you said, no, uh, we're not going to work with you, we're going to do everything we can to work against you, no matter the cost. So I'm through. You can be on board, or you can swim."

I tend to agree with your take on it. Had he fought them the whole way, people would be fed up with everyone. Now, people are seeing how the repubs are really playing. Personally, I think he could see early on how the repubs would obstruct everything and decided the best why to fight this was to show up their behavior. I think he knew no matter what he offered they wouldn't play, so why not offer and make them look bad.

BTW, I don't think the repubs hate him because he's black. They hate him because he's a Democrat. Simple as that. The black part just comes in handy to rile up the base.

They hated Bill Clinton with the same fervor and set out to destroy him from the very start as well.

"Change", however, was a nice political slogan. Now, it's "Not as bad".

But if this woke people up, and maybe, Obama will turn into a lion with these creeps, then whatever it is/was may be a good thing. Maybe now, he realizes that they are out to kill him and us.

He and his leadership group and the rest of the country are using the language of the Occupy Movement. Now, more than ever
almost everybody understands the one percenters and the 99 percent. Whatever the 2010 election and Obamas mistakes were,
and there were many, and yes, there are Corporation Cronies there, but Romney's view is suicide. Only time will tell. We can hope for the best outcome
