certification from the OGE? It sounds like the nominees are required to have this certification before their Senate hearings. Is this just another "norm" that the Republicans can ignore?

Just because they will not be recognized by Ryan on the floor... does not mean they can't speak out. They have to grow a pair.

(10,009 posts)There are still enough GOP votes for confirmation, but there will be a record of why no Democrats voted YES. To be consistent, if the nominee was properly vetted (ethics paperwork in, no conflicts, etc.) AND is qualified, another justifiable reason for a NO vote must be recorded, otherwise vote to confirm. Not ideal.
