Recommended it to a friend, then kind of put a hold on the recommendation. Not sure she's up to it right now. Not sure I'm up to it.

Or do you mean a new re-release of the movie?

This movie is a must watch....book of course was more detailed and as movies goes it followed the book well, but both the book and this movie gave me chills when it was first published and I read it in College...

Where she said that the idea for the book came when she had visited Afghanistan and then watched what was happening in Reagan's American. I have not attribution for that comment - it's been decades since I read it.

The article linked inside the one in the OP is horrific:

What Women Used Before They Could Use the Law
Or, an incomplete inventory of methods and means to abortion—undertaken with varying levels of success and the ever-present possibility of death—in America before the passage of Roe v. Wade

An excellent book that, like Orwell's 1984, will be seen as more history than fiction.

Of course, with a name like Guillaume, you might well be Quebecois.

I approached that subject at that time and my wife said she would not move. She cited language and cold and distance from our children. If it gets bad here she might be willing to change her mind.

I even offered Ontario as a partial compromise but Ontario is just as cold as my home area. As does everyone here, we are hoping for the best.

Trois-Rivières is as far west as my family lives in Canada.

I would recommend BC or Ontario for English speakers.

I strongly recommend the reading of the unabridged novel by Claire Danes. I don't know whether there was an earlier version, but this one was published in 2014.
